My model 125 has the Vortex piston. I can’t speak for the spring version but I will say that my well tuned spring powered Hatsan Striker is just as smooth as any gas ram gun I’ve shot. The Vortex piston cocks very smoothly. Cocking effort is stout but I normally cock it one handed.
