This is the exact replica of the Mercedes-Benz 500K “Sport Roadster” 1935. Before starting production of this automobile which has a displacement of 5018 cc and a maximum speed of 175 km/h, Daimler-Benz constructed 2 particular prototypes with a displacement of 7900 cc for special clients. Pocher reproduced both of them in 1 to 8 scale.

According to the commission book, this Mercedes Benz Type 500 with supercharger (500 K) with the body of the Cabriolet C was ordered by 'Mercedes Benz London Cars Repairs and Sales Ltd.' in Stuttgart on 28 March 1935. Delivery of the right-hand drive vehicle took place in June 1935.

The original Cabriolet C body was discarded & the current special roadster body constucted to the minutest detail with reference to the factory drawings.
An evolution of its 500K, (for kompressor, or supercharger) the Mercedes-Benz 540K debuted at the 1936 Paris Auto Show. Powered by a 5.4-liter inline eight-cylinder engine, output was rated at 115 horsepower – until the supercharger was manually engaged, which boosted output to 180 horsepower and delivered a top speed of 105 MPH.
The Mercedes-Benz 500K was built between 1934-36, but the Special Roadster was even rarer, built only in 1935. The luxury performance model was one of the most comfortable rides of the era, and though a few hundred 500Ks were made, only 6 "Autobahn cruisers" were. One sold in 2011 at Monterey, California, for $3.7 million to a private auctioneer.
